Carefree Credit veterinary loans - referring to Amigo!

My dog has had to undergo cruciate surgery this morning and I'm expecting a bill of around £3500!
I sent an enquiry into Carefree Credit to see if I could apply for a 0% loan to cover his treatment - money is paid direct to vets and then spread over 12 or 24 months. Have read reviews of it previously and thought that it would help spread the cost a bit.
Unfortunately our veterinary practice is not registered with the scheme so they can't help. They did suggest I go to Amigo loans instead if I 'had difficulty'! I was very shocked with this as although I won't be entertaining that idea, I wonder if some people might do in order to raise the finance.
Just though I would share the experience! Seems like a great scheme if your vet is registered for it!

It's probably too late now, but if not, you should call Debbie Martin, Head of Client Services at CarefreeCredit on 0845-313-0177 and she can give you the name and address of a vet near you which IS registered for their interest-free loans - and give her the contact details of your vet so she can sign them up, too!
Kind regards,

Before calling anyone, check the official website of the organisation in question for their latest numbers. Look for numbers starting 01, 02, 03 or 080.
If you do call an 084 number, do it from a phone line with the lowest Access Charge you can find. This can be up to 12p per minute from landlines and up to 45p per minute from mobiles. The Service Charge will be up to to 7p per minute but the exact amount wasn't mentioned.0 -
And definitely time for pet insurance, even if it doesn't cover pre-existing.0
