in Cutting tax
I know that each tax year starts in April. I worked in Argos April and May doing a 13 hour contract a week then at the end of may i went to America until August. I have not being working since i came home at the end of August but have accepted a job yesterday. My contract is for 6 months. If i was on the 12 month contract i would be earning £18,000 but as its only 6 months im earning£9,000 so i am just wondering how much tax will i have to pay each month?
Thanks
Thanks

That depends on how much you earned in April and May. You should also hand over your P45 when you start work so that the tax can be correct.0 -
Well if you hand over your P45 you may well avoid tax as you will probably just stay under the limit.
However if you don't hand over your P45 you may well be taxed. You may well be taxed on the first payment even with a P45 but it should sort itself out the following month.0 -
