Comparison of flour brands

Options
We regularly use our food processor to mix bread dough. But one supermarket brand of strong flour we used recently stripped the spindle (and made very poor bread). Foolishly after replacing the spindle we tried again - and had the same result! We are waiting for another new spindle.
Having discovered the hard way that not all strong bread flours are the same I have not found any report comparing brands. Maybe someone knows of such a report for UK flour - or forumites may like to share good or bad experiences of specific brands. Thank you.

  • In my breadmaker I use the Tesco brown and white 95p for 1.5kg,comes on a 3 for 2 as well.
Only times I have had a bad loaf is once during a power cut and twice when I put the wrong amount of water in ( not reading the instructions properly when I first had it)

Never had any success making bread in the fb ( even though it says it can) usually the dough works itself out of the container and back up clogging the spindle

I now use the kenwood, not always perfect but better then nothing
