Negotiating Final Settlements

Hi there,
After years of stupid decisions I finally had my lightbulb moment about my finances. I'm in the process of selling my house to release the equity that has built up so will soon be in a position to settle outstanding debts and start building my credit back up with the aim of purchasing another property in a couple of years when my file is bit cleaner.
Can anyone help by pointing me in the direction of a template letter for negotiating a partial settlement on some old debts?
Thanks in advance.
