Out-office emails - are they accepted as a response

Hi everyone - I'm new to this forum so please forgive me if I'm in the wrong part of the forum.
I started comping a few months ago and I have already been lucky enough to have a couple of wins.
I am going away soon for a couple of weeks and I won't have any access to my voicemail or email at all. Do any of you know if an automated email reply and a voicemail on my mobile explaining this will be accepted as a response if I win if I then contact them personally when I get back or will I have to forefeit the prize?
Does anyone have any experience of this?
Thank you very much and thank you for letting me join you.

All you can do is try and see what happens (the call and move on ones don't leave a message so you wont know what you missed, if anything, from them)0

Personally, I would sooner risk missing out on a prize than advertise the fact that I am away on holiday and my house is empty.0

Thank you for your replies.
It's interesting that there are 'call and move on' comps - Does this mean that they literally try once and if they get voicemail they try someone else?
When I am at home my mobile has no signal (my voicemail says this and then leaves my land line number to try instead) and when I am at work it has to be turned off.
My phone registers missed calls even when it's off so I would know someone had tried but not left a message.
I always leave the messages on my email and mobile while I'm on holiday as I rarely have access to them when I'm overseas so I wouldn't be doing it just because of the comps.
My home won't be empty while I'm gone so I don't need to worry about that.
The chances are I won't win but it would be a shame to miss out!0 -

Yes there are a few, radio station ones seem to be the most common although "time critical" ITV ones, like the recent one for the X-Factor, call 3 times in a three hour period and move on.0 -
AO.com are also call and you have to answer or they move on. Often on a friday afternoon during their live-streaming video thing. So if you enter on their FB for the weekly/fortnightly comp, use a phone number you can answer on a friday at 4-5pm ish.Thank you to everyone who posts on the competitions boards. You all rock!0

I should be ok for 'call and move on' ones then as I don't have a facebook account or do radio comps or any that would involve lots of publicity!0
