Hi
I had a letter from Lloyds from an old defaulted account which I have contested for a long time (most of the balance was fines) saying the account was closed- the details of the account were correct. Now 2 months later they are saying the letter was a mistake and I still owe the money. Would like advice on where I stand on this.
Thanks

If the debt consists mainly of charges, you should write a formal letter of complaint, stating you are in financial difficulty, and asking for a refund.
It's important to follow the correct complaints procedure to get a positive result.
If the bank still refuse, take your complaint to the financial ombudsman service, who will resolve the matter on the balance of fairness to both sides.
That is the correct procedure to follow to resolve the issue.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
