I doubt that there is a statistics showing you how many applications you need to make to get a chance for an interview as it depends on your CV. You might get one right away or you might not get anything at all.

Do you have some sort of rare skill that would make you attractive to employers thousands of miles away? If not, why do you think they would show any interest in you rather than local candidates?0

Have you checked if they'll let you in?
No country will take me (US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada) ....0 -
You will need to fit some pretty rigorous criteria to get into most countries outside the EU to work. Have you done any research?0

Are you going on a working holiday visa? If so look into the ski seasons etc as they will need a lot of casual workers. I think it's similar work wise to over here, no harm in applying when over here but I should imagine a lot of work is found in shop windows etc/ word of mouth when there:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one

Depends on the type of Visa. Working Holiday Visa or permanent move.
If its a permanent move then you normally need sponsorship from either a Canadian Family member who is willing to support your living costs whilst you search for a job, or you need proof of employment from a Canadian Company, or you need sufficient money that shows you can support yourself.
For a Holiday Working Visa (Assuming its similar to Australia).
You need proof that you have the funds available or a valid return ticket out of Australia for when your visa expires.
Then you find bar / restaurant / fruit picking type jobs once you are out there. You can only work in any one job for a maximum of three months, after that you have to move on. The idea is that it is a working holiday visa and they would expect you to want to move on to see Australia.
I've had a couple of friends go to Australia on Working holiday visas and they never had any problems finding somewhere to work. Farmers especially are always looking for fruit pickers.
