Bankruptcy NT tax code and Tax Credits

Hi,
I went bankrupt in April 2015 and today I received a letter from HMRC saying that they will be applying the NT tax code to my wages from April 15 to April 16. I have a few questions regarding this if anyone is able to help me?
-as it is now September will I get a tax rebate for the tax that I have paid since April?
-I am on Tax Credits, will this change my Tax Credit award?
-I receive housing benefit, will this change my housing benefit award?
I'm very wary of spending the additional money in my wage packet as I fear that it might be deducted elsewhere or later down the line.
Thanks in advance.

Hi, the extra money on your payslip that would normally have gone on tax needs to be kept aside, you need to pay the money to the agents that collect for the insolvency service.
Your tax credits and housing benefit are already calculated on your gross income so not paying tax shouldn't affect your award.
