i have to go to the jobcentre this week and i'm bricking it because i've done cash in hand work sporadically with someone i know and i want to put him down as a reference, but what would jobcentre say about this work?
the work was over a period of a few months recently but was kind of 1 week on, one off, then i didn't work with him for about a month and then i would work with him for 2 weeks kind of deal.
do they ask for any kind of proof from my last job? because it was cash in hand i don't know what to say to them about the job.

I gather you've not been declaring the income from the cash in hand work.
You either declare him as a reference facing the consequences which means you repay everything you've claimed or you ignore everything you ever did as if it never happened and don't put him down and hope you get away with it which if there is no proof you ever did anything should be relatively easy.:footie:

You could use him as a personnal referance instead of as last employer.
If you had worked before, then use your previous perm. employer as a work reference.Never Knowingly Understood.

If only you'd registered as Self Employed, you could have got tax credits, and help when you had no work.0

Just to clarify. Have you been doing cash in hand work whilst claiming JSA or was this before you claimed benefit? If it was before you claimed then JSA won't be particularly interested. If it was while you were claiming benefit and you haven't declared it, it is benefit fraud pure and simple and you could be in deep doo doos.0
