Sainsbury's Online grocery burning questions

Hello
(a) Does Sainsburys show valid offers only applicable to booked delivery day? (or does it warn you the item goes up before delivery comes?)
(b) Will Sainsburys charge you for delivery if your delivery invoice/bill drops below delivery pass £40 threshold, because they have out-of-stock items. (you don't accept any subs)

If you choose items that are offer now and you choose say a delivery date of say 20th october the next page will show warning you the promotion on so many items will have ended by your delivery date.0

I used to work in a shop which would deliver food to customers homes; in the few times (rare) we were unable to get everything from our own stocks for a customer, the manager would go and source the same products from other stores often at a cost to ourselves because the customer's satisfaction was our main priority. Seems if a little one-off shop with a handful of staff knows better about how to offer good customer service than a mass market supermarket with thousands if not many more of staff then things need to seriously change!0 -
Guess my experience was a fault then? First and last shop if they're going to end up omitting most things due to lack of stock and then charge me for needing to go and rectify the stuff they couldn't get!

I came on here as CS answer to (b) sounded implausible (but what do I know?) and (a) was wishy washy. (They said I wouldn't even get a delivery if it fell below £25 and charged extra if fell below £40 due to o.o.s and I hadn't enabled subs.)
My previous online del company said (on website) the checkout basket that mattered and o.o.s wouldn't have any effect on del charge etc.
Surprised Sainsburys don't have this answered on their website0 -
Had it in writing that Sainsburys will add £6.95 to an order if it dips below £40 despite having a pass.
Also will remove an e-voucher should the order dip below the threshold.
If you enable subs that would potential circumnavigate this position but you can't be sure what your final bill will be and confusion of returning unwanted/overpriced subs.
Not worth the hassle!!! What a silly policy as not fault of customer if stocks are out.
Promotions not an issue.0
