His poor tenants could always sign the petition if they feel hard done by.

You tax the provider, you tax the consumer. The government should have cut the middleman out in this tax raising operation and taxed renters of BTL properties more on their income tax.Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.0

They can sign, and it will help, but this is the email we got on 8th Sept.
The Petitions Committee considered this petition at its meeting on Tuesday 8 September.
The planned tax relief restriction is part of the Finance Bill currently being debated in the House of Commons. This Bill will be looked at by a Public Bill Committee – a group of MPs who go through a draft law in detail and debate it.
The Public Bill Committee can receive views from the public now.
You can find out how to send your views to the Public Bill Committee here: http://www.parliament.uk/business/news/2015/july/have-your-say-on-the-finance-bill-/
You can follow the progress of the Finance Bill here: http://services.parliament.uk/bills/2015-16/finance.html
Because the issue is currently being looked at in Parliament, the Petitions Committee decided not to take any further action on this petition. You can see all the decisions it made at its meeting here: http://www.parliament.uk/business/committees/committees-a-z/commons-select/petitions-committee/news-parliament-2015/8-sept-committee-decisions/

If a landlord with 900 odd properties has managed to increase his rents by 33% in response to the BTL tax changes that would be a really interesting basis for discussion. However this is tempered because most detail about Mr. Wilson's business dealings seems to be based on the Kent Messenger's interpretation of what he decides to tell them.
Have any of the Fergus followers ever seen any real data? His turnover must be around £12m and require a staff to manage. Is he a sole trader?
Without this data we end up making up stories in our head based which project our own prejudices as much as the facts. In all the threads about him I've concluded (based on the way he dresses!) he's a bit of a knob but am none the wiser about his lettings business.0
