Hi all
I wonder if there are any photocopying engineers out there or indeed anybody who has knowledge of photocopiers and the toner that is emitted from it in the toner cartridge. I mentioned to a friend yesterday that as a money saving thing at my employment instead of buying new supplies of the chamber where the toner is collected one of the employees opens up one of the chambers and hovers it out. The problem with this is that at least once it was dropped on he floor and a plume of toner was emitted into the air Also there is the problem of said toner being in the Hoover and trawled all over the office. My friend said she thought toner was carcinogenic and needed disposing of properly. Can anyone please advise

I believe at one time it was carcinogenic, if you want to be certain google for the MSDS.

Thanks for info. I had already googled but wondered how up to date info was. Was really hoping to get views of photocopying engineers Need to get my facts straight before I bring it up at work.0

You have nothing to fear bar some overspill of toner powder/liquid if handled incorrectly.0

as ozzuk says req a copy of the data sheet
not wise to vac it out with a regular vac, toner is very fine and will ruin a normal vac.0
