I received a rejection letter. I am disappointed about this.

I know that it is difficult to recruit new people in my area with my skills. It took my employer over 12 months to recruit someone recently. I was talking to someone at my previous workplace recently and they said the same. I wander if my salary expectations were too high (10% above my current salary and at the higher end of the range).

They are still recruiting for this role as the advert was last updated on Friday. I emailed asking fir feedback a few weeks ago but i have heard nothing.

    I have three options:

    2) forget about it
    2) contact the recruitment consultant who acted as middleman last year. He is recruiting again for this role.
    3) there is another recruitment agent advertising for this role. Contact him/her.

I believe i should choose option 1. However, i thought i would see if anyone else has experienced this first.

You don't have much option but to forget about it.

You have been rejected for the role and have no chance of getting it now. There is no point in applying again via any of the recruitment agents - it will only sour your reputation with the local recruitment agents when they find out you are wasting their time by applying for roles you have zero chance of getting.

I would say that your rejection of the role 12 months ago probably ruled you out this time around. Not many employers would give someone who rejected them previously a second chance.

If someone tried to re-apply to a role I'm recruiting for after being rejected, I'd only get annoyed. Just forget about it and move on.

Last year, I was offered a role via an Agency. When the role came to an end, I gave the company I was working at my contact details. 5 months later, I got a call from the company and have been there ever since.

The agreement I had was that neither I or them would mention to the Agency that I was now a direct employee.

    So far, so good.

Of course you should apply directly via their website - its advertised there for that exact purpose! If you'd not applied before you wouldn't even know which agency they were using anyway
