Really get annoyed.

Hi me again I'm getting really annoyed as I can't work out what to do in working which is my money and what to put down on the SOA for me.
As you know we are both going BR and I understand that it's done indiduakky rather then a joint BR, but my question that is really getting me down is when it asks for income what do I put down because I get income support and careers allowance yet my name is on the child tax tax credits too which will mean it looks like I have more money coming in but my OH has debts too. I'm completely at a standstill. She's got 18k of debt and I have near on 40k of debt.
Thank you

Hi there is no earned income at all.0

In that case it's doesn't really matter how you apportion it on the forms. No IPA is possible. Plus the forms are only basic info for the judge, and a starting point for the OR. They are used toi the fact that the forms make this sort of thing next to impossible to put down correctly. Just do the best you can, and perhaps add a note in s13 to explain.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

In these sorts of cases we always just used to put the same on both forms with a note in Section 13 to explain.
Why don't you pop up your SoA on the board and just let us run our eyes over it.

Thanks Fermi & tigerfeet I'll get that SOA sorted for this evening. If you don't mind going over it please as we need as much help as we can as both worried sick.0

Hi,
My forum friends have immediately leapt to the point! - it really doesn't matter what you put on the form - that section of the form is all about calculating an IPA - and you can't have one, because you have no earned (and presumably) no private pension income.
So, no need to worry at all, but let's have a look at the figures and we'll point you in the right direction.

Yes, the SOA is an academic exercise in that case. OR will not even bother looking at it much or calculating an surplus, as cannot be claimed anyway.
The OR's guidance says:
"No calculation of real disposable income need be made in such cases."
