in Gone off!
Hi chums as I said above because Chrismas is looming the price of basic staple items mixed fruit, glace cherries, flour, caster sugar etc start to go up in price .Any ideas where I can buy the best price for glace cherries, sultanas, really Chistmas cake ingrediants.I usually buy them after Chistmas when the prices fall but I have used up most of my stock through quite a bit of cake making through the year;)

Apart from the usual suspects I think Farmfoods is pretty good with these kind of items but Iceland might also be worth a look if you have one in your vicinity.Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

Don't have a B&m,Home Bargains or Farm foods near, but managed to get some glace cherries at £1.29 for 200gms at the new Adsa's,although the young assistant hadn't a clue what they were or what I would use them for Actually asked me if they were in a tin !!!
Must say I wasn't impressed by the store or the layout and when I was almost over charged by 65p for cereals ( I sorted it at customers services) ,but only when I said to take them back as I can buy cheaper at Aldis then she gave me the overcharged cash back) Moral of the tale is don't mess with a eagle eyed old bird:)

...if you can find any! So many "value" or "economy" products no longer available in some of the supermarkets I've been to.
Luckily being in London I'm able to just switch to the nearest Pound Shop, Lidl or street market but I thought I'd just mention this because many like me wont have the space to bulk-buy to store cheaper brands before they get pulled presumably to make space for the Christmas lines coming in.
If you can't find what you want in store, don't forget that Supermarkets are not your only option when buying things. IME it's not only London who offer things like cash-and-carry, Pound Shops and Lidl/Aldi/etc0 -

More pounds for the supermarkets out of the customers pockets at the one time they know we will buy stuff for the Christmas period. The more I live, the more I learn.
The more I learn, the more I grow.
The more I grow, the more I see.
The more I see, the more I know.

How little I know.!!0 -
