Relocating to west country?

I currently live in the west sussex area but find it hard to get another job and properties are so expensive to buy, I am considering moving to either dorset or wiltshire as they seem cheaper there and ppl seem nicer too (people are really hostile in my area!). I really want to try and get on the property ladder since I have 50k+ in savings and still live at home with my retired parents, I have no commitments to keep me here, friends, partner etc. Would I find work there does anyone live there, do they enjoy life in the west country? I am a postie in my job but it's caused a lot of problems for me and now in poor health so wondered if there was any jobs like care work, office work etc

I'm afraid those aforesaid areas are just as expensive if not more than where you currently live: I live in Thanet now having relocated from the Thames Valley for the very same reason prompting your move.
£50k will afford you a deposit, at least, though I am a little unsure whether your health condition will grant you an opportunity of work as now you will be competing [for work] with declining health. Bear in mind that any area with umpteen rows of period houses, restricted building, good schools and a higher salary bracket WILL be costly, and not limited to Dorset or Wiltshire.
£50k would have got you a 2 bed flat here in 2012; the area here has now improved immensely and I see flats now at £100k as many more people like you want more "bangs for their buck", so to speak.0 -
It seems that my suggestion that you should post here has backfired - you're getting employment responses on the housing board and a housing response on the employment board! Hopefully when you read them all you'll get your questions answered.0
