Time between competition end and winner announcement!?

Just wondered how long it takes for companies/Competiton runners to announce winners and prize...Does it normally take place on the end date or can it be longer?

Mostly I enter and forget, but there is odd one or 2 comps that I keep my fingers crossed for and day dream about the prize!! 😍😍😍 However I'm always of the mind set that if I haven't heard from anyone by the day after the comps finished its over and I haven't won!! 😢

They don't have to announce winners sometimes they choose to make the details available only if you send a SAE, T&C's usually cover this.

Notification if you are a winner again depends on the T&C's and can be anywhere from the same day to several weeks after the closing date, sometimes even longer if they do a redraw for any reason (with FB and TW you may not be contacted directly and will have to respond to a FB post or a Tweet to claim the prize).

Forgot - sometimes you don't get notified and the prizes just turn up:).

there was one that ended a few weeks ago with Cass art that I've been keeping an eye on. No one on here posted anything about winning (there were quite a few great prizes) and a few people have posted to their facebook page asking if the winners ad been picked (no one saying they have won anything) so I've been wondering about this. I just usually enter and forget but I kept a close (hopeful!) eye on this one and it seems there has been no winner announcements either by the company or by lucky winners themselves.

The winners should know who they are by now but I cannot find anything in the T&C's about how to get the winners details (name/county), maybe as newsletter sign up was a condition of entry they put/will put them in that?

The prize winners will be the first valid entries drawn at random from all entries received. The prizes will be allocated in the order they appear on the prize draw page. The winners will be contacted by 31 August 2015 via the email address or telephone number provided on the entry form.
10. The winners must claim their prize within 48 hours. In the event that the winners do not claim their prize within this period, another winner will be drawn at random.
11. All products will be delivered within 30 days of contacting the winners. Some prizes such as membership, subscription packages and tickets for exhibitions and events will have varying redeemable dates. These will be confirmed with the winner directly.

the draw can vary enormously - I had one win where my wem was 3 months after the closing date- had others come the next day

I had one that was 3 months after the end date, because I was the 4th person they had contacted to try to give the prize to. It was tickets for an event, so they wanted confirmation you could make it before awarding the prize - they were giving each winner 28 days to reply to the winning email, 2 people hadn't replied in time and one person had turned the prize down as they couldn't make the date.
