PCP or Finance - I made the wrong choice!

Good question, never thought about it before but I think the answer is they advertise 0% interest on balance transfers not 0% APR. The APR quoted always seems to be the normal one around 16% to 19%.andyfromotley wrote: »Doesn't apply to balance transfer CC's i guess!?0 -
Thanks for all the input guys. As you have suggested, I've had it confirmed that the current 0% deals do come with less wiggle room on a reduction and without any Vauxhall deposit contribution. It looks like that if we'd have gone 0% then overall it would have been much of a muchness.
If you're a cash buyer then surely the best way to buy a car (perhaps not morally) is to get the lowest list price by signing up to a PCP contract on a fairly heft interest and taking out the dealer GAP insurance. The commissions on these, will allow the dealer to offer the bigger discount on the car.............And then cancel the finance agreement and GAP insurance within 14 days, leaving you to pay off the cheaper car!0 -
cancel the gap if you can and buy from ala one of the cheapest and best policys. Best of all as its a new car it starts a year later as if its written off during the first year your insurance replace the carDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

I didn't take out the GAP as I knew it would be overpriced when speaking to the salesman (Vauxhall want £399 and I paid just £93). I needed GAP from the off as my insurance with Admiral would only pay market value, as there is no new vehicle cover through Admiral policies.cancel the gap if you can and buy from ala one of the cheapest and best policys. Yeah ALA is about that price for return to invoiceDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
