Wow you have been a busy bee.
I think spending the money on that present is definitely the right thing to do, your DS will be so happy with that.

Do you use the ebay app LittleMissDetermined? I find it much easier than the actual ebay site, it seems to simplify the steps of listing items.

Absolutely I do... it's so much easier!:T Especially when you have umpteen items in the same category :rotfl:

Another £80.83 OP paid off the loan this morning. That's over £1k made in overpayments since the middle of June now. :T
Really happy to see the totals going down quickly now.
I'm really tired today after a busy evening of working at home, but did manage to get loads of orders out, so all productive. I need to post them all today at lunch time.
I have had to purchase another drinks bottle for DS as he seems to have lost the one I bought less than a week ago... if it turns up at school then he has a spare one! I've actually ordered two, to keep one as back up as he regularly chews through the plastic spout.
YNAB is all up to date this morning. I have just over £50 floating in the funds to be allocated yet, I'm thinking of paying it into my ISA to try and build up my emergency fund a bit, butt it is sooo tempting to pay it off the debt. Think I may be sensible and put it in the ISA though as I have very little money behind me if something big goes wrong.
I'm going out for a drink tonight, but have some money in my purse to cover that. I'm driving, so won't cost a lot anyway.

Updated to say, I have put the 'spare' money in the ISA, will try and build that fund up alongside paying the debt off.
£50 scheduled payment has come out for CC1 today too which is double the minimum payment. Will throw lots more money at that as soon as the loan is paid off though, but CC's are 0%, so they're taking the back burner for now.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £49,869.55

We bought a bundle of 250ml bottles of water from one of the big supermarkets to use as water bottles for dd. Even labelled them the high-tec way, biro on masking tape! She has 1 in her school bag, 1 in her lunch bag, 1 in her ballet bag...!
Your payments are awesome girl!
I've just counted up my bunnies, etc and have 55 bunnies, 58 felt mice, 8 knitted doggies, 8 lavender bags (need to do more of these, but only up to about 20, and have discovered 'lavender ravioli' to try making), and various amounts of my hanging tree decorations. I probably have enough, but the need to be doing something is greated than the need to stop!!! Anyhow, am doing dd's school and my school Cmas fairs this year. One day I'll set myself up on Etsy....
And 28 knitted monsters and 10 russian dollies!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Just popping in with a quick update, I'm afraid its not very positive, far from it.
The pneumonia came back and I was poorly and off work for a few weeks. Thankfully now it does seem to have gone and I'm feeling much better.
I'm still overpaying the debt and have overpaid over £3k now since mid July. It's still at around £8.5K though.
The business takings are down more than 50% on last year too, so are not helping to take the debt down as much as I would've liked.
Unfortunately, on Wednesday, I was threatened with redundancy. There are 5 of us in my department and 1 of us has to go, 1 of which is amazing at her job and we could never afford to lose her, so that leaves 4 of us.
We will have to undertake competitive interviews within 4 weeks to bid for our jobs. To say I'm terrified is an understatement as, if I lose my job, I lose the house.
I'm feeling like such a failure - I couldn't keep DS's family together and now I may lose his home. I feel like I've let him down on so many levels. I need to buy him new shoes tomorrow and I broke down thinking about it yesterday. I have the money for them now, but for how long?
I'm a bit of a wreck presently peeps, but will come back with an update when I have more news. Please keep your fingers crossed for me, or rather DS. I don't care about myself, I will go without and live in a box if I have to, but DS has been through enough in his young years already.

Sending you massive hugs, MeandO. You will get through this. I'll have everything crossed for you. Is it worth talking to your mortgage provider about the possibility and seeing what they could offer?
Lots of love xxNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Hello all,
Just a quick update to say I got through the (harrowing) interview and managed to keep my job, so feeling very thankful and relieved.
I've continued to pay the debt down in chunks whilst also topping up my savings pots to help me through the year.
Total debt is now at around £6500, with the loan now at £999, so the first aim is to pay that off as quickly as possible.
I'm still busy with the business, but it is making less than half of what it was last year. This is a blessing in one way as there's no way I would be able to keep up with orders of that volume presently without making myself ill. It's ticking over nicely and if this is how it will be permanently, I'll still be very grateful.
Him and I split up for a while last month, but happy to say we sorted things out, he pulled his socks up massively when he realised how he'd been acting, and things are now good.
Not wanting to wish my life away, btu will be happy to see the back of this year, hopefully next year will be better for everyone.

So pleased you still have your job - massive congratulations to you xx. Glad too that the debt is diminishing and that Him has pulled his socks up. Sorry your online business is slower, but, as you say, it sounds like that has actually been what you needed this time.
