PeppaCoin's bid for financial freedom

In June OH did start another job as a showroom manager. He's only been paid once so far so we dont really know yet the reality behind how good the commission scheme is, but hopefully he has more earning potential now which should make things easier.
We have also decided to try for another baby in October so that is something positive to look forward to. We need to make savings. I estimate we need about £3k to afford me being on maternity leave for 8 or 9 months, so we are focusing on that too. We COULD wait until all the debt was paid off but I'd be 35ish and OH would be 42ish, so we've decided to go for it sooner rather than later.
We have saved £450 of the £3k so far. Savings should start to ramp up now in the next few months, when we get a better idea of our income.0 -

My other hand has really settled into his new role as Showroom Manager and is earning much better than we expected, which is a real relief. He can earn good commission and his take home salary has essentially doubled. We are trying our best to be as frugal as possible, although October was our son's 4th birthday and we did put his birthday party on the credit card (£300!). It was the first one he'd had and he really enjoyed it so it was worthwhile.
We are also now actively trying to conceive which is so exciting and scary in equal measures. We have saved £1000 of our £3000 we need so far to support us whilst on maternity leave.
Hopefully things are finally moving in the right direction0
