Sick-National Insurance Contributions

Hello Money Saving Experts!
I am currently on long term sick after being employed full time for a year and as such my national insurance contributions are due to stop.
My question is, should I continue to pay National Insurance Contributions to continue earning credits towards my Old Age Pension when I retire? Even though I am living off my savings as I am not eligible for any benefits. I don't know how long it will be until I am able to work again.
If you think I should pay towards it, how would I go about doing this and how much is it likely to be?
Thank you

How old are you, how many years contributions do you have, are you likely to receive benefits in the future ?

Are you sure that you do not qualify for credits?
Would you qualify for ESA if your savings were not too high?
