First Direct £100 when leaving?

Hi - has anyone claimed the £100 from First Direct for leaving them? I am considering this and wondered what they ask - it says you must contact them before leaving to get it - not sure if they want you to have a specific reason to qualify

I think you have to be dissatisfied with their products or service to get the money.0

Ts & Cs are at http://www1.firstdirect.com/1/2/banking/current-account:We're so certain that you'll enjoy our service better than anyone else's, if you're not happy banking with first direct after six months, and within twelve months, you can leave us and we'll give you £100 for your trouble.
You must have paid at least £1,000 a month into your bank account for six months and have not tried us before.
You'll need to have switched your banking to us using the Current Account Switch Service. Incentives are paid within 28 days of all criteria being met.
You must contact us to claim the Service Guarantee prior to closing your account.
All your other accounts within first direct will need to be closed, including any fixed term products.0 -

I did. It was a few years ago though, so I'm not sure if their terms have changed.
I simply said I was disappointed with their internet banking and lack of in credit interest. They were reluctant, but they did cough up in the end.
I'm back with them now for their regular saver though...0 -
I don't know if there are any other terms defined anywhere in their small print but my assumption would be that the references to 'service' mean that you'd need some sort of legitimately service-related issue in order to claim.
To me, a poor online banking facility could be portrayed as a genuine reason to be unhappy with their service, but I'd have thought that they'd resist HSBC ownership or lack of in-credit interest as being non-service matters that would have been visible to a customer before opening an account....0 -
Yeah I got the £100 for leaving.
Basically they kept texting my balance to my work phone when I expressly asked them not to.
Easy £1000
