But taking this option the debt would move over, not an additional debt, and take less time?
How many times have I convinced myself and my OH that our debt consolidation loans were just this - not additional debt but moving them across and taking less time. We then found ourselves unable to cope, borrowing more and spiralling out of control.

I agree totally. Been there done that also, hence the reason I am on here along with many others
