Hi
DD has given her notice into her employer of 6 months. The contract states 6 weeks notice needed, her Dr has given her a 8 week fit note. Someone today mentioned she maybe entitled to her full pay and not SSP for her notice period. Can anyone confirm this. Thanks

I read that slightly different to you BB
I think by normal they mean what one would normally be paid while on sick, and in the op's case as there is no contractual sick pay I think it means ssp.0 -
According to her contract, what notice period would her employer have needed to give her if they were terminating her employment?
If it's more than a week she will not be entitled to full pay.0 -

As usual the GOV.UK site has been so over-simplified as to be meaningless.
For better details on this see....

The right to full pay during notice if off sick applies only to the statutory notice period which is one week for employees giving notice. As six weeks' notice had to be given there is no right to full pay just SSP assuming all SSP conditions fulfilled.0 -

Thankyou for confirmation, the GOV.UK site does confuse me in parts.
Thankyou to everyone for your help.0
