court fine help

Hiya,
So long story short. About 5/6 months ago we were really short on money due to MOT and the day before pay day OH rode ethe train without a ticket and obviously got caught. Now, since then we have moved and never had any letter about the fine sent to our new address until our ex-land lady passed on a summons to court with two days notice of the court date.
OH sent back the forms to plead guilty as not disputing that he deserved the fine or not paying.
He's been fined £770 which they want as payments of £110 over 7 months which we can not afford. We have two DDs and all their figures on what we can afford ignore things we were locked into contracts for before any of this started, anything for the girls. They expect us to live off £40 a month (not including food) when OH's train fares are £3 a day, 6 days a week.
We know that the contracted things are non-essential and luxuries, but we don't see how they can tell us to not pay 3 different companies in order to pay this fine, its just going to make it ten times worse with more debt. We can afford £55 a month fine, but they won't accept that.
What do we do?
