London expected to be plus 80% 2007 prices

    I was watching a BBC documentary about building basements in London. A developer said that prices in London had been doubling every decade for the past 100 years.
    2nd Aug, 15: £276k. 18th Sep, 15: £269k. 30th Oct, 15: £265k.

    Sounds about right.

    As for the 80% prediction in London, I know my own small BTL portfolio is already up close to 80% since 2007.

    Given the prospect of low interest rates and decent economic growth for the next few years, I'd say that there is still a lot of upward momentum in London house prices for the next five years

    It was reported in the press today that Chinese people fed up with thier stock market are piling into Chinese real estate like there's no tomorrow. Good old bricks and mortar.
