Just wondering how your appointment went OP? (if you've not seen anyone by now then you need to start being pushy! Most GP's will offer a sit and wait service and if not, there should be a walk-in GP at your local hospital/A&E, call the 111 people to check). Hope they've managed to find a solution.

This is not an emergency. An emergency would be a detached retina, an object in the eye that can't be removed, a severe tear, sudden loss of vision etc... This needs attention, but not immediate.

I agree with the advice of making an appointment with a community optometrist. They can refer directly and will know better than a GP.

We'd see something like that picture in a minor clinic - definitely not an emergency.

Your first port of call should be your local optometrist who will write to your hospital. Meanwhile keep using the heat treatment - having a cyst doesn't mean you don't have blepharitis, it likely means your bleph is flaring.

There is a system whereby you can get an urgent appointment with an optometrist. Only a small number, per area are in the scheme, but your own optometrist should have the list of phone numbers . (Unfortunately, as I found, and a consultant I saw, commented, the system is not very efficient, but it's worth a try).
