Any ideas for good, easy clean oven trays?
I HATE my oven trays - no matter what products I use, how long I soak them they still take so much scrubbing to get clean.

Just buy new ones periodically. They're not that expensive from B&M etc0

I really rate the oven trays from the 'Cook's' range in Sainsbury's. They're often on offer and they're really solid, hardwearing and easy to clean. I do have a couple of Mermaid ones for specific things (cookie sheets etc) but they aren't cheap, and for decent everyday trays at a reasonable price I'm really happy with the Sainsbury's ones.0

My oven trays are the ones that are made of the same stuff as grill trays. Cost a couple of quid 20 years ago or more and still in "as new" condition.
They take a good scrub with a metal scrunchie without ruining the surface
I always use baking parchment as well0 -
Baking parchment or foil to protect them when using! But if they are ruined I would just buy some more...0

Avoid cheap trays that will warp with heat. You can't go wrong with vitreous enamel, they are baking trays for life.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Either cheap ones regularly (Poundland) or dear ones once0

I've got some pyrex ones which cost around £1.50 each from TJ Hughes. I've had them for years now and they scrub up like new time after time. Fantastic. Just wish I could find them again in a bigger size.
Oh second to them is the virtuous enamel ones mentioned by VfM4meplse0 -
I bought some really expensive heavy ones thinking they would last, two lots of roast veg later and the coating is coming off.
I now buy them from poundland where I also buy the cake tin liners which I flaten and use to put on the base of the tin.
I also use tin foil dishes also from poundland to make my Yorkshire's. Life's too short to stand in front of the sink scrubbing away and they are recyclable.0 -
Best ones I've got are stainless steel. I bought them years ago in the Co-op and they still look like new. They're great for things like roasted veg and chicken portions but quite deep sides (4/5cm).
Unfortunately they don't seem to make 'flat' stainless steel baking trays that I like for chips or fish. I've tried expensive Good Housekeeping recommended ones and they still get scruffy quite soon. I will look out for vitreous enamel but meantime I've got Sainsbury's and resigned to replacing them when needed. I might try some very cheap ones (like B&M) and see if they last as well as more expensive ones.0 -
I too am a member of the "Buy cheap and chuck away" brigade. Life's too short for scrubbing baking trays! I get mine in Wilkinsons, assorted sizes at £1 each. I always line with foil or parchment but as soon as they start looking scruffy they are in the bin and replaced!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0
