Equity Help

Hello all,
I'm posting this on behalf of my partner, so apologies for my lack of knowledge of mortgages etc.
Ok so, my partner's Grandparents took out equity on their home some years ago but her Grandfather sadly passed away a couple of years back. The family wondered if the equity should still be paid off? Does it just carry on in her Grandmother's name?
Many thanks in advance,
MJH.

Why shouldn't the equity released be paid back. The money was borrowed in joint names ( if I read your post correctly). So the death of one borrower shouldn't change this .0
