Work more than contracted hours but employer won't give extra holiday days

  • Start the process for collectiing the evidence in writiing that you are forced to work the overtime.

    things like saying I can't work overtime this week.

    Booking a weeks holiday and only using 2 days of the prorata allowance not 5 days
  • So at the risk of sounding dense if I were to work my contracted 16 hours as 2 full days and then take the rest of the week off - would these days be classed as holidays ? Or would they just be my normal days off as I'm only contracted to 16 hours ( and I only work them as overtime in a normal week)
  • They would be your normal days off. If your contract says 16 hours then if you take a week off you'll just be paid 16 hour holiday pay. Many places don't give extra holidays for the extra hours. I'm contracted 30 hours and have worked 50 hours. It reminds me of the nationwide advert as the extra hours worked would normally occur annual leave but the companies just keep it as profit
    :T:T :beer: :beer::beer::beer: to the lil one :) :beer::beer::beer:
