Advice please for a friend facing disciplinary hearing

Whilst I don't have much advice (although as above - if the police aren't involved and he's happy to retire he may as well just leave now if he doesn't want to fight it).
I am very impressed with how we went from
toI cannot and will not reveal detail because I will not compromise him.Ok he has accused someone of being a Class A drug addict at work It was put in the public domain by various people (including a friend of this person at work) so a lot of people know.
Also, I think i'm being an idiot but what's "hypo"?0 -
As said before and I dont know why the OP keeps asking should he resign. DO NOT resign, take the money on full pay and then dont turn up to the disciplinary0

My best friend is a HR director. She advised me his/her modus operandi (i.e. Resign, send a letter rather than going to disciplinary hearing, etc.) will work fine as long as your friend has reported the offence to the police and other people are aware of the alleged discretion rather than just you. I assume there are other people other than your friend that are aware.
He/she has nothing to be worried about according to my HR friend.
Get on with life and not worry about such rubbish.
I should know as I had a friend that had a problem with drugs so I have little sympathy with such people.
Have I just entered an alternate universe ... or are you the one that is on drugs?
(I trust it is ok to randomly accuse you of being on drugs with no evidence?)0 -

A hypo is what a diabetic might have if they have a low blood glucose level, it can lead to a diabetic coma. Symptoms can include:
Sweating
Fatigue
Feeling dizzy
Being pale
Feeling weak
Feeling hungry
A higher heart rate than usual
Blurred vision
Confusion
Convulsions
Loss of consciousness
Oh and ability to send emails to colleagues at work!"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -

Again should he resign and offer his 4-week notice ?
I don't know wot other info I can give so please help.
BTW the police r not involved. I don't think they would be interested anyway !
A simple drug test should be able to clear up that matter with a minimum of fuss.
I have never heard of someone sending a significant volume of abusive emails purely because of diabetic hypoglaecemia - there just isn't isn't detail enough to provide advice that is realistically useful.
If it is a case of wrongful accusation and has been unfairly posted all over the public domain, then I would hope that whoever is responsible for that is facing a disciplinary as well.0 -
Sorted. He is okay as the company do not wish to pursue the matter and have let him resign with his reputation in tact.0

Does the aggrieved individual feel the situation is sorted ?Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0
