I think that's exactly why OP is hesitant to put it in the box, she doesn't want it to go to waste if the RSPCA won't use it.

Peachyprice - that's exactly why I asked.

I'm going to ring our local Cat Protection and then RSPCA.
If not, I'm sure Valli will make use of them ('good' quality or not )
