Read the summons letter... all reasons that you are barred from serving are on the documents and form you need to fill in / return...
http://hmctsformfinder.justice.gov.uk/HMCTS/GetLeaflet.do?court_leaflets_id=336 will also help.
In short, however, Bankruptcy does not prevent you from serving on a Jury. Jury service can be rather interesting (although a lot of boring hanging around happens, too).0 -
Should be fine, and they do pay you for loss of earnings plus reasonable expenses.0

Only loss of earnings up to a certain amount and its not a great deal
Ive done it twice and it was as another poster says, quite interesting but haning about at times can be boring.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

That was my problem when I did it a number of years back. No pay for loss of earnings and nothing for travel on London underground, only "xyz" per day for food but then I was only there for 4 days, did not get called on and as I was retired and had a freedom pass to travel I could not moan too much, spent most of the time reading a paperback or watching tv. The only thing that got my goat was doing it in January as it was freezing;0)0 -

You aren't going to get paid if you're retired and got a travel pass.:rotfl:
Look on the bright side, at least HMCS helped you save on your heating bills for a few days.:D0 -

No my dear partner was not call at the same time as me so heating was needed indoors, I did ask if my partner could come and be with me after the first day and if I was not wanted we could play rummy but they said it was not allowed so I lost out that way as well :0(0 -
