Can air cadets wear spectacles?

Hi,

My son is hoping to be an Aeronautical Engineer when he grows up. Hence, he is interested in joining the Air Cadets. However, he is short sighted. Can he still join the air cadets?

    For applicants with disabilities the website says
    You are very welcome providing you can take part in a reasonable number of activities and as long as your disability does not cause you safety problems.
    A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.

    Of course they can. I wear specs, did 4 years in the ATC followed by a 31 year career in the RAF

    I don't think I was excluded from anything.

    6+ hours on Chipmunks (no gliders available close to where I lived), regularly on the range using Lee Enfield .303 (showing my age now.) & .22 rifles. Also did DOE Bronze award while in the ATC. Summer Camps at St Mawgan & Manby
