After 5 weeks from the start of our application, We are now at the point that our case is in for the final checks.
Had valuation done which came back fine. They have now asked for the last months bank statements, This is the third lot of statements that they have asked for?
I've asked the broker and he said that this is good news and nothing to worry about.
Suppose I just want this to all be over and finally get our offer. It's been a long time coming.
Thanks.

I got my formal offer letter from Nationwide without any additional checks, just the 3 months of payslips and bank statements.
Maybe its just because its 5 weeks after you started and they can get more data now?We love what we love. Reason does not enter into it. In many ways, unwise love is the truest love. Anyone can love a thing because. That's as easy as putting a penny in your pocket. But to love something despite. To know the flaws and love them too. That is rare and pure and perfect.0 -
My offer took a long time to come through. And I still haven't got it in writing. Only know as I rang them on Monday and they said it has been passed through.
I'd ring them up if you don't hear and you might get the good news over the phone instead of waiting for a text or e-mail.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Final checks is the stage between receipt of valuation and issue of mortgage offer.
It's when plausibility is carried out, such as checking distance to work from new home and travel costs compared to what has been disclosed.I am a mortgage broker. Is there anyway Nationwide would speak to me if its being sorted with a broker?0

I spoke to Natwest even though we were using a broker. I needed the mortgage reference number though.0

I got to the 'final checks' stage around midweek 2 weeks ago, formal offer was sent out the following Monday, so around 4 working days. Still waiting for confirmation my sols/mortgage adviser have now received said offer as I'm abroad right now.
It's been a long, drawn out process for me too, mostly down to mistakes on Nationwide's end of the stick, but the end is finally in sight.0 -
I wasn't keen on the idea of using a broker as we got burnt by one in the past, but this one has been excellent.
Just me getting impatient now I guess. Wish NW would let us now.0
