6. The winner will be contacted within 14 days of the closing date of the prize draw. Should the Promoter be unable to contact the winner or should the winner be unable to accept the prize, the Promoter reserves the right to award the prize to an alternative winner, drawn in accordance with these terms and conditions.
7. The prize as described is available on the date of publication. Should the prize become unavailable, a substitute of equal value shall be provided.
8. One winning entrant will win a three night short break for two to Alves, near Elgin, Moray, Scotland. The prize package comprises:
• First class return rail travel with Virgin Trains East Coast from any Virgin Trains East Coast station to Inverness;
• Three nights accommodation in a 4-star Carden Holiday Cottage on a self catering basis;
• Complimentary continental breakfast each morning;
• Car hire;
• A guided walking tour with Cameron Taylor, co-author of “On the Trail of the Real Macbeth”; and
• A copy of “On the Trail of the Real Macbeth” and accompanying DVD
9. The prize must be taken as one package.
10. The prize does not include travel between the winner’s home and their nearest Virgin Trains East Coast station, travel insurance, transfers between Inverness and Carden Holiday Cottages, food and drink, personal expenditure or incidental costs, other than where mentioned.
For car hire, the driver must be at least 22 years of age, hold a full clean driver’s licence for a minimum of two years and must adhere to the car rental company conditions of hire. The hire is restricted to ONE named driver, being either the winner or his / her travel companion. The driver must also hold a valid credit card (not debit card) with a minimum of £500 available for security deposit, which is refundable upon safe return of the vehicle. Additional fees may apply. The prize includes the cost of car hire only. The cost of petrol and any damages to the car will be at the winner’s expense. Pick-up and drop-off is to be arranged between the winner and the rental company.
12. The prize is valid for travel before March 31, 2016 and excludes the Christmas and New Year period. The prize must be booked at least five days in advance of travel. Once confirmed, the booking cannot be amended. The winner and their guest must travel together at all times.
13. All elements of the prize are subject to availability, non transferable and there are no cash alternatives.
