I've still not been paid SSP (2 months down the line)

Hi all

I've given my manager my ssp (sick notes) to her via post and she still hasn't paid me for 2 months now! I have £20 in the bank left and get paid monthly but as ill I don't know what happens now? She is ignoring my phone calls, texts and emails about payments. I have gone on the Gov website and nothing else for info really. But how can I be sure if she is trying to not pay me ssp I don't want to start a row with her

My family are helping me out but they have barley any money for themselves!

Speak to HR? Are you receiving a payslip?
  • I phoned HMRC ain't they said they couldn't help me and said to try CAB. Which I will try and do next week.

The company I work for is a big company, the only way I could find that info out is via my manger to which she won't speak to me let alone give me the HR lol.

I would normally be getting a payslip but for 2 months nothing. I have a good credit rating which Im trying to keep good for a flat to buy so ALL is at risk now cos of this dam woman!

    Did you use this number?
    HMRC employees’ enquiry line
    Telephone: 0300 200 3500
    Textphone: 0300 200 3212
Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm

Have you checked if entitled to SSP? If not you need to be chasing an SSP1 form from employer.

Have you paid tax this year, if so assuming on cumulative tax code you would have got a tax rebate even if SSP not paid. Have you checked with payroll dept. why no payment?

If you work for a large organisation have you tried ringing head office and just asking for HR or payroll?

Are you sure you have not been dismissed? To not get payslips seems rather odd as computerised wages will print them unless set as leavers or on holiday.
  • That's the prob comeandgo I would be sent a letter if I was dismissed it says so in my contract. All I want is her to tell me if I have got a job or not but she won't give me nothing back! But I'm not letting this go and will try everything next week for answers!
