Blair Oliver Scott - good for settlement figures?

Hi there

Has anybody had much dealings with Blair Oliver Scott as far as offering an early settlement?

Recently found out the my OH owes more to them that he first let on. I was furious when I found out as I had plans in place and set a time limit to have it paid off.

OH is trying to sell his car so will put the £2k in a savings account and add £100 a month to this for the next 18 months. He is currently £9600 in debt with BOS and pays £165 a month (interest frozen). I worked out that in 18 months time he would had reduced this debt £2970. That would leave a balance of £6630. Are they likely to go for a settlement figure of half of this?

Normally I would suggest to OH to pay the £2k off the debt when he sells the car, but makes more sense to put it into a savings account of 6% whilst the debt is interest frozen and then use it as a full and final settlement.

Ideas?

Thanks in advance.

  • They will negotiate, always offer less than you have so there is room to move up if they make a reasonable offer.
