Alcohol free beer... any suggestions?

Apologies but not sure where best to post this and thought the OS crowd might be able to help.

My father is very keen on Becks Blue lager and has recently begun a long term antibiotic situation so is unable to have alcohol in any event.

Does anyone have any recommendation about alternatives, please? I would be particularly interested in any cheaper brands so as to save him some money.

  • There was an article in the guardian last year. http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2014/jul/18/-sp-taste-test-best-worst-non-alcoholic-beers

From this he's already on one of the cheaper ones. For my money, I wouldn't touch becks non-alcoholic, I've gotten some of the worst headaches from it - really frustrating when you haven't actually had any alcohol. My preference is erdinger - but it's more expensive. If they don't have it or one of the other 'fancy' ones, I'll go with water/tea/coffee.

So I guess if he likes becks, go with it!

I drink Fosters Radler 0.0% it's called. I can take or leave Becks Blue, I think it's a bit tasteless. San Miguel alcohol free is quite nice too but again the ones I bought were cut with lemon- I'm not sure if you can buy the plain ones.

    Don't drink it.

    Used dishwater is cheaper. :-)

My favourite and the only one I will now drink is Bavaria which you can buy in supermarkets. It costs around £1.99 for 4 bottles. It is really refreshing and taste nice as a Shandy too. Blue and red box.

Hope that is of some help.

Has he actually been told not to take any alcohol as you can take most antibiotics with alcohol?
