  • Yes I have been around these boards long enough, and dont worry atush I am sure you would find differently on a jury. I am not playing the hard done by Policeman as I said there are many who earn more than me many who earn less, like life we all have options, some would not want to do my job, some would love to. I 'come in peace' I have no illusions about what some may think about police/govt pensions and have no argument with people who think its a digrace. When all that is taken into consideration I sought advice/views/help as I have done before on other subjects and will no doubt will again in the future

Haha with that considered response, you should have been in the Diplomatic Corps. :)

And have you been assured that your pension is still good? and have you now sorted out the wheat from the chaff and understand how the LTA works? Do you earn so much in the police that the LTA will come into play?

Ie your Lump sum plus 20X annual pension? Do you understand transitional relief?

Do you get your facts better understood and lined up when working a case?

The Police do particularly well out of the LTA calculation ('lump sum plus 20 x annual pension') in my view. As far as I can see the calculation takes no account of age of retirement and it doesn't seem that the calculation represents the cost of providing the pension as compared to a DC pension.
