Mortgage new client from overses

Hi reader,

Does anyone know if a Uk lender will search loan history from abroad? I leave and work in Uk and I have a loan (almost to be repaid) in my country and I need to know if Uk banks can trace it outside Uk. The lender will never tell me the truth..

    What is your issue with the loan and the mortgage lender knowing about it?

    If it has less than six months to run it won't be taken into account for affordability.

    It won't show on your credit file. (Obtain them to check.)

    How long have you been in the UK? Until you have a three year residence history you'll be limited in the lenders you can approach.
