Does checking your credit file online with Experian, affect your credit rating??

Hi All,
I have registered online with Experian, and can view my credit file at any time. However, I have heard that if you look at it too many times it can actually affect your score??
Is this true? We are in the process of buying a house, and as I have a poor credit history (and a DMP) I am waiting for a few updates on there and so am checking it quite regularly.
Any advice appreciated
Thanks

I doubt it the trend these days is to sign up to Experian and check your account monthly! You are not doing seaches you are just looking totally different.0

no it doesn't... its only credit searches that affect your rating0

agree with the advice above - credit searches will "make a mark" on your credit report but you checking it for yourself doesn't although it may show on there.
