you can put apple puree into the freezer - in bags or ice cube trays, then bag, if necessary.
Does separate slightly on thawing but a good whisk sorts that out.0 -
No, I didn't put them in a water bath.
I'm thinking gingervamp is not someone who should eat round mine.....lol....since we are obviously unwell and possibly zombies, having died from eating unseen pathogens! LolCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

lol I think I'll risk a few jars and just use them up before the stuff in the freezer. How much sugar do you reckon you put in?

pour hot apple into hot jars and immediately screw on a pop top lid. If tops don't pop as they cool then you have the option of trying again or using a water bath. If they do pop then you know that they are vacuum sealed and will last. Check lid tightly screwed on and store.
I either sweeten to taste or don't use sugar at all.0 -
I honestly didn't measure the sugar donna73 it wasn't lots as I used a mix of eating and cooking apples.
I did get nice 'pop' that seakay mentions, made me jump as it happen when they cool down!
Jarred apple sauce doesn't look lovely I'd say though - like brown mush - but lovely in all sort of things!Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck
