You know that you can get a new boyfriend with zero down and zero to pay each month? Choose carefully and you can find one with super low running costs too. :-)£1000 Emergency fund No90 £1000/1000

If he cannot afford to clear a £450 credit card in full how is he going to manage repayments on a £12,000 loan?
I would have thought with defaults, missed payments and being over the limit on a £450 credit card he's not got a great chance of finding someone to hand over £12,000 for a car."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0 -
This is really silly.
If that's his baby you mention in your signature (I don't like to assume) then he has responsibilities to you both and taking on this level of debt on his salary for a car is not on. He should be involving you in the decisions and not just ignoring you.
My partner recently wanted to buy a vintage Rolls Royce for £15k, test drove a couple and was really into the idea. We don't have children but even so he involved me in the decision and we agreed it was not something he should do in our present circumstances but one that we could perhaps reconsider in a few years. In the meantime since we needed a car we bought a used BMW Z3 roadster for £2,400, no need for finance. He loves it, probably more than he would have the expensive car. Could you direct him to a cheaper make/model/year?0 -

Depending on dates , amounts involved etc highly likely that this will impact on the potential outcome in some way.0 -
So he can't afford what he already has yet thinks he can afford an expensive car?
You are bringing up more than one baby.0 -

I've never had a loan or anything on finance (apart from my mortgage)
I think it's foolish to do when you have a 1 year old baby that has more of a priority than a BMW.0 -
Years ago my girlfriend wanted a car and I had some savings so I bought her one.0

If he is looking at finance direct with BMW direct (Alphabet) highly likely to be a no as they can be very picky. Any other funder possibly however from looking at the above it would either be a no or a stupidly high rate.0
