FWIW, our Chief Economist thinks that Brexiteers are fricking stupid. (He didn't say fricking).

    as a matter of interest

what is your chief economist's track record for his previous views and forecasts?

Many supporters of Brexit believe in it even if it is detrimental to the economy.
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.

Anyone that has seen my posts on this forum, and others on MSE, over the past 10-12 years or so, will know that I, pretty much, have no time, whatsoever, for the vast majority of economist's/analyst's views/analysis on the UK, and/or global economies/markets, which, on the whole, IMHO, have been totally inaccurate, useless & pointless, and which have shown a distinct, 'ivory-towered', lack of basic knowledge, of the global commercial word and what's happening in it . :)

Without any wish, whatsoever, to be confrontational, I'd welcome, like Clapton, hearing of your, clearly 'singularly minded', chief economist's track record, on views & forecasts, over, let's say, the past 5 years or so. :)

it would seem to me, that your post is a lot more confrontional than mine and it uses a lot more words too

My wording probably wasn't right. I've changed it to read better. I didn't wish to mean that your post was confrontational at all. I'm really trying my best to be non-confrontational, whilst still explaining my viewpoint. :)

Yes, they do, indeed! Myself included. However, that view, which I totally accept, is also down to the length of detriment. I can't, IMHO, see any more than a short term shock to the economy, which I'm more than happy to happen, for the long term benefit to the economy by leaving the EU.

Not just the economy, the standard of living in general (related to economy). I'd say most brexiteers would sacrifice standard of living in the name of freeeeedoooooom.

    Another thread soiled by brexit.

Our Chief Economist is very good. He called the end of the mining investment boom correctly for example (most didn't).
