Kensington mortgage - are we near offer?

Wondering whether anyone could advise...
Have put a full application in with Kensington. Packaged well as far as I could determine. Thought they would ask for loads more things, but came back with a couple of missing items, which they actually had already but must have mislaid. Valuation was last week (passed ok). According to the broker we was meant to have the offer through today. today comes and goes...nothing arrives. Yesterday I had a call from Kensington to confirm contact number and they also contacted my work (for a reference I guess)?!
Question is are we anywhere near to an offer? Broker said last week that we were 99% there, but I wasn't expecting further checks after valuation? could it be going wrong now? I had hoped the horrible job of checking bank statements etc was long gone. I tried to get hold of the broker today but he was uncontainable. Am hoping it's not bad news and he isnt avoiding me?
