advice on already agreed car finance
hi there im hoping someone can help me.
my husband found a car he wanted at a local dealers.he payed the deposit(£1750) i think.in cash.and filled all the paperwork out etc for the car finance and gave them any documents they needed.everything was agreed, this was thursday of last week.they said he could collect the car saturday originally but when saturday came they said they hadnt recieved the money from the finance company.and then told him he could collect the car today so he took a day off work, waited and after calling london and surrey finance just now they told him the payment was being held by some other company so hes took a day off work and lost a days pay for nothing.
what i would like to know is if they can keep making him wait like this, after telling him he could have it one day, then changing it to another and now it looks like its not going to be for another day or 2.all the paperwork was agreed last week,
any advice on this would be great.

Call them and ask when it will be ready. After they tell you tell them "time is now of the essence". If they fail to honour this date you will cancel the deal and demand a refund of your deposit.
I advise anyone buying a car to write on the sale documentation
"date of collection to be xx/xx/xxxx. Time is of the essence". This makes the delivery date part of the contract.
It concentrates the mind of the dealer and enables the purchaser to cancel with no loss of deposit.0
