Halifax £500 cashback

After going through a broker, it seems that when moving home staying with Halifax and porting my existing mortgage, is the best option for me.
Partly because they are offering £500 "available to home movers who apply between 17th August and 11th October 2015." http://www.halifax.co.uk/mortgages/moving-home/?pagetabs=2&#tab-row-3
What is confusing me, is that if we apply for a mortgage in this period but do not actually move until after the 11th of October deadline (currently aiming for the end of November) could I still take advantage of this?
So far I have tried:
We do have some time to play with, but it is very frustrating not being able to get my accounts in order.

So far I have tried:
- Calling my local branch (who do not answer no matter the time of day).
- Speaking with "uk based call centre operators" (who do not know)
- Using the web chat (who tell me to ring the mortgage line)
- Speaking to the mortgage line (who had no idea what the offer was, even though it is on the first page of their mortgage website)
- Who then told me to speak to my local branch.
We do have some time to play with, but it is very frustrating not being able to get my accounts in order.

I would say the wording means it's based on when you apply and not when you complete.0 -
The wording is clear is it not?I am a Mortgage Broker

That's what I assume, however what timescales between the two, for example how long does an application last for?0

The other query I had for Halifax is that they are supplying what seems to be conflicting information.
One page states apply (as above) the other states:
"For first time buyers and home movers who take out a qualifying mortgage between 17th August and 11th October 2015. Exclusions apply."0 -
It doesn't matter how long the application lasts for, just that it was started between the dates of the offer and that you eventually take up the mortgage. Otherwise everyone could apply and then not take up the product.0

Each product has a draw-down deadline.
As long as you apply within the dates mentioned and complete within the draw-down deadline of your selected product (see top box page one of KFI) you will get the incentive.I am a mortgage broker.
