Of course, Final Salary Pensions can no longer be offered as the lifespan of the young is to be greatly enhanced .... the young will probably live to 100.

Whilst the boomers will peg out at around 80 ..... I'm sure most would buy 20 years of extra life with their right to final salary pensions.

Moreover, a lot of 'baby boomers' don't have final salary pensions. No one in my (large) family, 'baby boomer' or not, has a final salary pension. Where do some people get their ideas?

Have you got kids? You can get 3% on 90k for each of them with no charges.

    No kids under 18, no.

Still a decent number of Final Salary Schemes about - even Tesco has one!

If no Final Salary then a Defined Contribution Scheme in which you can invest £40,000 a yeah tax free - saving you your Income Tax at 45% ..... and then collect for many years.
