Hi All,
An ex manager of mine contacted me regarding a job at his new company that he thinks i may be interested in.
He said the director is keen to meet me and i am going in tomorrow to meet with him.
I have been asked to bring a CV with me but apart from that i have very little information.
Does anyone have any idea of what this is going to be like? Will it be like a job interview? Any tips please

Sounds like an interview to me. Make sure you know your CV - nothing worse than someone asking you a question about something on your CV and you going 'Huh?'

Thank you. I will try and prepare as best as i can for an interview then :-)0

If you have no information about the job can't you find anything out from your friend before meeting the director? The alternative is to explain that you are coming in blind and have no idea what is on offer.0

It could be coffee and chat just to get an idea of what you're like, what you've been doing, what you might be looking for, or it might be a more formal interview. You'd like to think that if it was a more formal interview they'd actually tell you that though.
I'd expect it to be a more informal chat but obviously if you can do any research on the company etc then that would be a bonus.

Sounds informal, which is good, as you can't really be expected to prepare for something when you have no details. Bet you're excited, sounds interesting.0

This is what networking does it gets you in the door and sometimes onto a shortlist of one where the jobs are being created as part of a business stratagy*.Hi All,

he has sold you to the company/director as a good fit. Sensible people don't poach those that won't be upto the job it reflects bad on them. Do you strust respect of this ex boss.

this will be the will they fit test

Might be a formality and a cross check for how you have been sold.

you have to treat these as intervies as you are selling yourself on top of the introduction, know your stuff.
More important is finding out all about the company, the job and do you want it as well as making sure they like you and you like them.
Research a lot, if this is to be a career move.
